Description: U Square at the Loop is a LEED certified multi-use mid-rise covering two city blocks between McMillan and Calhoun streets across from the University of Cincinnati’s main campus. U Square includes 161 upscale market rate apartments, 80,000 square feet of retail space, 40,000 square feet for University of Cincinnati office space and over 700 parking spaces in two parking garages on either side of the building.
Total Investment: $75 million
Type of City Assistance: The City provided a $3 million forgivable loan.
Funding Sources: Additional funding sources for the project include the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, 3CDC and various other foundations, fundraisers and donors.
