Gantry brings former Northside lumber yard to life
$15 million development adds residences, retail to business district

CINCINNATI – The City of Cincinnati joined the Northside Community Council, Milhaus Development and other partners to commemorate the opening of Gantry, a $15 million mixed-use development in the heart of the Northside business district.

The project consists of three new multi-story buildings that contain 131 units of market-rate apartments and 8,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space along Hamilton Avenue. This development is the first large-scale new construction in the Northside business district in more than 60 years.

“The Gantry project is a truly exciting development that will add to the vitality of the Northside business district,” said Mayor Cranley. “I want to thank Milhaus Development and everyone who made this project possible. This is a great example of a public-private partnership reclaiming an old industrial site and making it relevant and useful again.”

In creating Gantry, developers collaborated with local community groups to adhere to the neighborhood’s historic guidelines and to create an environment where residents can interact with and enjoy all of the great amenities Northside has to offer. There are many local shops, restaurants, parks and a fitness center within walking distance.

“This is tangible economic progress,” said Oscar Bedolla, director of the City of Cincinnati’s Department of Community and Economic Development. “The development occurring in Northside is achieving a great deal of momentum and positioning this community for long-term vibrancy.”

Each of these new apartments features high-end finishes and urban decor including 42-inch cabinets, granite countertops and hard-surface floors (wood-style or concrete).  The pet-friendly community also offers washers and dryers in every unit, interior bike storage, private garages, private storage rooms, a recycling room, on-site management and 24-hour maintenance.
